Rosemary is a shrub-like plant growing up to 2 meters tall, with silver-green, needle-like leaves and light blue flowers. It is cultivated worldwide. The main oil-producing countries are France, Spain, and Tunisia.
 
The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the flowering tops.
 
In aromatherapy, rosemary oil is used for acne, dandruff, dermatitis, eczema, lice, gout, palpitations, poor circulation, muscle pain, rheumatism, flatulence, jaundice, colds, influenza, headaches, nerve pain, mental fatigue, exhaustion, and stress-related conditions.
