Cedrus atlantica (Atlas cedar).
 
Country of origin: Morocco.
 
Astringent, aphrodisiac, locally antiseptic, diuretic, antifungal and fungicidal, expectorant, calming, stimulates circulation, tonic.
 
The Atlas cedar belongs to the conifer family. It is a pyramidal evergreen tree that can grow up to 40 meters tall. The oil is obtained by steam distillation of the wood, stumps, and sawdust. The oil is mainly produced in Morocco.
 
Traditionally, the oil was used for bronchial and urinary tract infections, as a preservative and fumigant. Today, it is still used for acne, dandruff, dermatitis, fungal infections, skin rashes, arthritis, rheumatism, bronchitis, coughs, cystitis, and for nervousness and stress-related conditions.
